Helping Foster Children In Their Time Of Need
We understand life can have trials and tribulations. As a certified vendor for DHR it is our main goal to provide services for children in foster care. We have a number of mentoring programs tailored to the needs of our children. Mentors include people who have been in foster care, paid professional mentors, as well as dedicated volunteers.
Studies show that young people with mentors are 52% less likely to skip school and 32% less likely to act out violently.
May 19, 2015 · The states with the lowest share of kids in group homes were Oregon, Kansas, Maine and Washington, where the numbers were 5 percent or less. In four states — West Virginia, Wyoming, Rhode Island and Colorado — the share of children and teenagers placed in group homes topped 25 percent. The highest was in Colorado, at 35 percent.
Currently in Alabama, there are approximately 6000 children in foster care. Some simply need foster care for a matter of days. Others may need foster care until they are reunited with their biological family or a plan is made for them to be adopted. All of these children share the need for a caring and committed family that can bring them the future they deserve.
